The\u00a0<\/span>East Window is reckoned to be a particularly fine example of high Victorian stained glass and the font is believed to be the oldest man made structure in the village. They are given a Welcome pack of information about the village and the church. Periodically, there is a Newcomers Afternoon Tea for recent arrivals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">When people choose to come to church, they are given a warm welcome by our team of &#8216;sidespeople&#8217;. There is considerable choice of the type of service to give the style that will suit people best, usually followed by refreshments and chat. Outside of church there are informal Bible Study groups and Prayer groups in Drinkstone and in Woolpit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Getting involved<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;\">We believe that everyone has gifts and skills to offer. All Saints has long been served by a considerable number of people who play a vital role in spreading the load \u2013 such as church cleaning, flowers, sidespersons\u2019 duties, refreshments and so on.\u00a0 We also have a rota for reading the Bible in church, for prayers, and a number of lay people assist with the distribution of communion. We continually encourage more people to participate in different ways in the life of the church.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Community<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">There is always a need for fund raising when you have a 14th century church to maintain! Our Fund Raising team puts on a programme of varied concerts, coffee mornings, etc that\u00a0attempt to raise money but also to bring people together. In addition, the church provides regular community events such as a monthly Village Lunch and a Film Night, in the Village Hall. Then there are the annual events on the calendar such as the Harvest Supper and the Christmas Coffee Morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Normal-P4\"><span class=\"Normal-C\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Educational Charity was set up following the sale of the Church School in 1986, and it\u00a0provides:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"Normal-P5\">\n<li class=\"Normal-P6\"><span class=\"Normal-C\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">funding and equipment for the Junior and Senior Youth Clubs and backing for their activities<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal-P6\"><span class=\"Normal-C\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">grants towards educational\/voluntary service trips for Drinkstone students<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"Normal-P6\"><span class=\"Normal-C\" style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">educational grants, funding and support for educationally oriented village clubs and classes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Click <a href=\"https:\/\/drinkstonevillage.co.uk\/allsaints\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/DRINKSTONE-EDUCATIONAL-CHARITY-leaflet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">here<\/span> <\/a>for more information about the Charity.
